Electric bike rider stopped in his tracks after battery bites the dust in high-speed police chase!
High-speed e-bike escape ends in embarrassment
Warwickshire’s Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) had a wild chase on Banbury Road when an electric bike rider tried to bolt from the cops at full throttle. But the getaway was cut short – the e-bike’s battery died mid-pursuit, forcing the rider to ditch the bike.
Foot chase fails to save rider
After the bike powered down, the suspect made a run for it, sprinting across nearby fields in a desperate bid to get away. However, Warwickshire officers were hot on his heels and quickly caught up.
Traffic offences mount, pricey e-bike seized
The rider now faces several traffic offences, while police have confiscated the costly electric bike. Warwickshire OPU posted about the incident on social media, adding a cheeky quip: “The rider asked, and we obliged!”
This catch underlines Warwickshire Police’s firm stance on cracking down and keeping the roads safe for everyone.
