Adoptee Hero Dilly Teams Up with Adoption UK

Adoption UK, the top charity backing adoptees through childhood trauma, has a new star on board. Dilly, an adoptee herself, is set to help young adoptees live boldly and reach their full potential.

From Sri Lanka Orphanage to Role Model

Dilly was adopted at three from a Sri Lankan orphanage. Though loved by her English mum and Sri Lankan dad, she describes her family life as “very functional” with little quality time. She never had professional support to understand her past until adulthood.

Her organising skills kicked in early – tidying shelves at nine, arranging private homes in her teens, and helping her mum manage bipolar disorder and household chaos.

TV Star and Author Fighting for Adoptees

Now, Dilly stars in Sort Your Life Out, a show helping people overwhelmed by family life regain control. She’s also penned two books – Change Your Space and Create Space – linking mental wellbeing with decluttering.

Joining Adoption UK, Dilly will champion modern adoption awareness. She’ll campaign for better support for adopted children and young people in schools, easing their move to adulthood. Adult adoptees will also get a voice, with improved access to records, birth family tracing, and therapy.

Adoption UK CEO Praises New Campaigner

“We’re thrilled Dilly’s joining the Adoption UK family. Like most adoptees she had a tough start in life but she has shown remarkable resilience. She’s a great role model and mentor, but not just that – she’s keen to roll her sleeves up and help campaign for the support that all adopted people need and deserve.” – Emily Frith, CEO of Adoption UK
