Police Bust Teens with Fake Guns and Knives in Elson Lane Standoff
Police swooped on Elson Lane at 3.25pm on Sunday 26 March after reports of a violent scuffle among a group of teenagers. The gang was said to be armed with weapons, sparking a fierce response.
Four Teens Arrested After Weapons Seized
Officers quickly contained a property connected to the incident, arresting four youngsters inside. A haul of imitation weapons was seized, including air guns, Airsoft gear, a knife, and hammers.
The arrested suspects are a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old boy. They face charges for possessing imitation firearms with intent to cause fear and remain in custody.
Police Seek Witnesses as Dispersal Order Enforced
While handling the case, police also stopped and searched three other boys aged 14 and 15 on the street. They were ordered to leave under a dispersal order, which will stay in place until 4.40pm on Tuesday 28 March to curb further trouble.
The order allows officers to ban individuals from the area, with refusal punishable by arrest.
