Early this morning, chaos hit Bethnal Green as a fire ripped through a shop with flats above on Vallance Road.

Rubbish Blaze Sparks Full Fire Brigade Response

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters scrambled to the scene after five tonnes of rubbish ignited at the back of the property. The inferno badly damaged a small single-storey extension.

Quick Rescue and Assessment

Ambulance crews were on hand to assess two men at the scene, though no serious injuries have been reported.

Fast Action Tamed the Flames

The fire service was called out at 2:27 a.m. and had the blaze under control by 4:23 a.m. Firefighters from Whitechapel, Shadwell, Shoreditch, and Bethnal Green worked together to douse the flames.

Authorities are now investigating the fire’s cause.
