Man Found Dead in Castle Street Car Park Sparks Murder Probe

Kent Police launched a major investigation after a man was found seriously injured – and later died – at a Castle Street car park on Monday, 10 April 2023. Officers were called at 1.44pm amid concerns for the man’s safety.

Victim Identified as Guy Malbec, 51

The victim, named as 51-year-old Guy Malbec, was confirmed dead at the scene. Authorities quickly opened a probe led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

Four Arrests Made, Murder Charges Follow

  • Thursday, 13 April: Police made their fourth arrest in connection to the case.
  • Two days later, the Crown Prosecution Service charged Keith Hall, 50, of Athelstan Road, canterbury/" title="Canterbury" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Canterbury, with murder.
  • Hall was remanded to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 15 April.
  • Meanwhile, three other men aged 21, 27, and 49, also charged with murder on 13 April, are set for a maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court hearing on Monday, 17 April.

The investigation is ongoing as police piece together the deadly events that led to Malbec’s death.
