Nottingham Man Caught on Camera Pummelling Dog Over 40 Times

Owen Rippon’s shocking cruelty was exposed after a brutal video surfaced on social media. The 18-year-old was seen towering over a terrified dog and coldly punching it more than 40 times.

Animal Left Shaken After Being Fed Poisonous Chocolate

Rippon, who was merely looking after the dog, didn’t stop there. He was filmed deliberately feeding the female Staffy Bullboxer chocolate, trying to make the poor animal sick.

The abuse happened between March 20 and April 4 in Nottingham, prompting an immediate police investigation once the clip was reported.

Rippon Slapped with Animal Cruelty Charges—Banned from Owning Pets for Life

The Staffy Bullboxer, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Boxer mix, was checked by vets and is now safe and recovering well. Her devoted owners cooperated fully to bring Rippon to justice.

Arrested quickly, Rippon pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. On April 18, he faced Nottingham Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to six months behind bars—suspended for two years.

He also received a lifetime ban on owning or caring for animals, must complete 31 days of an accredited programme and up to 10 rehabilitation activity days. On top of that, he was hit with £239 in fines and court costs.

Police Issue Strong Warning After Distressing Video

“This video was particularly distressing, as it depicted a deliberate assault on a defenceless dog,” said Inspector Sharon Powar of Nottinghamshire Police.

“Thanks to swift action, the animal is safe and well. We are pleased to see Rippon barred from owning pets forever.

“Nottinghamshire Police will not tolerate animal cruelty or any acts of violence in our communities. Anyone who behaves like this will face the full weight of the law.”
