Chaos in Chicago: Shooting Sparks Multi-Vehicle Crash, Eight Hurt
A violent Saturday afternoon in Washington Park turned chaotic when a shooting outside the 3rd District police station sparked a multi-vehicle crash, leaving eight people injured—including four Chicago police officers.
Shooting Near Police Station Injures Two
The trouble began when a man and woman were confronted by a vehicle near the sidewalk. Shots fired from inside the car hit the man in the thigh and grazed the woman’s buttocks. Both victims were rushed to hospital and are now in good condition.
Police Chase Ends in Horrific Crash
Officers zeroed in on the suspects’ vehicle on South State Street. But as they attempted to make arrests, a crash involving four police officers erupted. Two officers remain in serious-to-critical condition. Another is fair-to-serious, while the fourth managed to get to hospital on their own.
More Victims and Suspects Held

Heartbreak for Illinois Politician
Illinois State Rep Angie Guerrero-Cuellar revealed her husband was one of the injured officers. She pleaded for support, saying:
“We are surrounded by our family and family in blue. I ask that you keep everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers. This is the phone call no family ever wants to receive. Thank you for all the phone calls, text messages, prayers, and support.”
