An update provided by the Essex Fire Service at 3:30pm on Christmas eve reveals significant progress in the battle against the large building fire that broke out earlier in Stambridge.
Firefighters on the scene have managed to get the fire well under control, marking a positive turn of events in the ongoing incident.
The situation, which initially involved approximately 60 firefighters, is now being scaled down to a contingent of around 20 firefighters who will remain at the scene to address any remaining hot spots and ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
Throughout the firefighting effort, aerial ladder platforms have been employed to deliver water from above, while drones have been utilized to provide live aerial perspectives of the fire’s progression.
While the worst appears to be behind them, firefighting personnel continue to work diligently to fully contain and extinguish the fire. Residents in proximity to the incident are advised to keep their windows and doors closed as the fire has generated substantial smoke.
Essex Fire Service is expected to provide further updates as the situation develops.
