A hair-raising incident occurred at London’s famed Winter Wonderland on Saturday night, December 30, when one of its rides reportedly malfunctioned, leaving customers suspended in mid-air for more than half an hour.
The attraction in question consists of a long rotating arm with seats at either end and is one of the most prominent features of Winter Wonderland, held annually in Hyde Park. Onlookers captured the tense moments on video, showing riders stranded in the air. The incident is said to have lasted for approximately 35 minutes.
Winter Wonderland is renowned as “the world’s best destination for festive fun,” offering visitors an array of attractions, including rides, games, delectable food and drinks, shows, and Santaland.
While the incident understandably garnered attention on social media, eliciting a mix of sympathy and humour, with some suggesting they would cancel their plans to visit Winter Wonderland, others quipped that the extended ride duration made it “great value for money.
Winter Wonderland has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
