On January 7, 2024, in Hove, a fire occurred at a bungalow on Hallyburton Road. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service quickly responded to the emergency call received at 8.25 pm. Witnesses observed thick smoke emerging from the property. Within an hour, the site was crowded with four fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, and several officers.

Firefighting teams, armed with essential equipment including six breathing apparatus, two hose reels, and a main jet, worked determinedly to control the fire.

By 10 pm, the ESFRS spokesperson confirmed that all individuals were accounted for, and the fire crews were focusing on damping down and ensuring the complete extinguishment of the fire. Their efforts successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
