Peckham Burglar Busted After High-Speed Crash Near Swanley
A suspected burglar, nabbed in Peckham, now faces a string of charges following a dramatic crash near Swanley. The chaos unfolded on February 25, 2024, after police spotted a blue Toyota linked to a rash of burglaries and vehicle thefts across west Kent and Surrey.
Police Chase Ends in Serious Crash
The Toyota ignored police signals to stop, sparking a dangerous pursuit. The chase ended abruptly on Green Court Road, Crockenhill, when the car collided head-on with a motorbike.
Both the motorcyclist and a pillion passenger suffered serious injuries in the smash.
Driver Flees Scene, Later Caught in Peckham
The Toyota driver ditched the car and fled on foot, evading officers initially. But on March 5, 43-year-old Chad Goodall, whose address is listed as unknown, was finally arrested in Peckham.
Charged With Multiple Offences
Goodall faces a battery of charges, including:
- Two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving
- Two counts of criminal damage
- Conspiring to steal a motor vehicle
- Conspiring to commit burglary
- Dangerous driving
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on March 7 and was remanded in custody. Goodall now awaits a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on April 5.
