Melksham Duo Jailed Over Brutal Domestic Knife Attack

A man and woman have been convicted after a savage domestic assault in Melksham left a woman seriously injured.

Kylie Taylor and Leigh Parham Found Guilty

Kylie Taylor, 35, of Market Place, Melksham, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, threats to kill, and assault by beating. Her accomplice, Leigh Parham, 45, of High Street, Melksham, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent following a tense four-day trial at Salisbury Crown Court, which ended on Friday, April 5.

Shocking Attack with Knife Inside Flat

The violent offences took place over two days, October 5 and 6 last year. On October 5, Taylor punched the victim, a woman in her 30s known to both defendants. The following day, inside a Melksham flat, Taylor and Parham attacked the woman with a knife. The victim suffered wounds to her hands, arms, and back after trying to defend herself.

Police were quickly alerted, leading to same-day arrests. Officers found the knife hidden in the toilet of Parham’s flat.

Investigator Condemns Attackers

“This was a serious, unprovoked assault with a knife,” said Crime Investigator Keith Harford. “Parham also stabbed the victim in the back. Their actions were disgraceful, and it’s fortunate the injuries were not worse.”

“I want to pay tribute to the victim for her bravery during the attack and throughout the trial proceedings.”

“Tackling violence is a priority under Chief Constable Catherine Roper. We are determined to cut down incidents involving weapons and blades.”

Sentencing Set for Late May

Both Taylor and Parham remain in custody and are due to be sentenced on May 27.
