Bromley Man Jailed for 9 Years Over Major Drug Ring
Lee Silvester, 41, from Bromley, has been slammed with a nine-year prison sentence. The Metropolitan Police uncovered his leading role in a high-level drug distribution network. The verdict came down on April 10 at Kingston Crown Court, where Silvester was convicted of conspiring to supply and possessing Class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
Police Crack Drug Operation After Year-Long Probe
The investigation kicked off in April 2022 when officers spotted suspicious activity at a storage unit. The unit, valued at £600,000, became the focal point. Police traced Silvester’s involvement through phone data from an arrested accomplice, revealing he was the mastermind “directing and controlling” the network.
Silvester was arrested in September 2022 carrying over £50,000 worth of Class A drugs. A search of his Lullingstone Crescent home uncovered more drugs, packing gear, heat sealers, and a burner phone linking him directly to the operation. He was also found on the storage unit contract, sealing his connection to the criminal setup.
International Ties and Police Praise
Detective Constable Kennedy praised the cross-border police collaboration that helped dismantle the drug ring. “We want to make London a hostile place for anyone considering this kind of activity,” he said. “There is no better deterrent than spending years behind bars.”
Silvester’s conviction is a major win for the Metropolitan Police in their battle against organised drug crime threatening London and beyond.
