Witnesses are sought following an attempted robbery of a child in Sissinghurst near Cranbrook

Detectives are appealing for information after two suspects were arrested in connection with allegations a 12-year-old boy was threatened with a knife. The incident is reported to have happened at around 5pm on Saturday 20 April 2024, at a location on Sissinghurst Road close to the junction with Common Road.

It is alleged the victim was approached by two people and pushed against a car. Demands for money were made and a weapon produced before they left empty handed.

Residents living nearby are being urged by officers to check doorbell cameras and CCTV for any important footage. Drivers who were in the area are also asked to review dashcams. Anyone with information which may assist the investigation should contact Kent Police on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/64116/24. A 20-year-old man was arrested during the evening of 20 April and is currently bailed pending further enquiries until 18 July. A teenage boy was also arrested and bailed.
