Met Police Detective Faces Court Over Assault and Coercion Charges

A Metropolitan Police officer has been suspended and charged with actual bodily harm and coercive, controlling behaviour. Detective Constable Lindsay Blackman, from the Specialist Crime Command, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 18.

Internal Investigation Sparks Charges

The charges came after a probe by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards. DC Blackman was charged in June over allegations including controlling and coercive behaviour, as well as causing actual bodily harm.

“A Met officer will appear at court charged with controlling and coercive behaviour and actual bodily harm,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said. “Detective Constable Lindsay Blackman, attached to the Specialist Crime Command, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 18. He has been suspended from duty pending proceedings.”
