£50k Drug Haul Sees Bedford Dealer Locked Up for Over Four Years

A Bedford man caught with drugs worth more than £50,000 has been slammed with a hefty jail sentence. Mazar Ali, 27, was found with a stash of hard drugs, cash, and live ammunition after a police raid last February.

Police Raid Uncovers Massive Drug Operation

Officers executed a search warrant at Ali’s home on Oldfield Road, Bedford, on 16 February. They uncovered cocaine, heroin, crack cocaine, and cannabis, alongside equipment used to produce drugs. Numerous phones linked to the operation were also seized.

Under Ali’s bed, officers found nearly £22,000 in cash stored in a safe. A drawer in his bedroom contained a gun magazine loaded with live rounds.

Dealer Admits Serious Charges, Gets More Than Four Years

  • Ali confessed to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs: heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine.
  • He also admitted to possessing over half a kilogramme of Class B cannabis.
  • Additional charges include possession of ammunition without a firearm and holding criminal property.

At Luton Crown Court, Ali was sentenced to four years and three months for the drug offences, plus an extra month for the ammunition charge.

Police Praise Conviction as a Win Against Bedford’s Drug Trade

“It’s clear that Ali was not only supplying hard drugs around Bedford, but was also a dangerous individual in possession of ammunition for a gun,” said Detective Constable Adam Geary from the force’s Boson team.

“It is really pleasing to get him off the street and disrupt the supply of Class A drugs in the town.”

“We urge anyone with information on drug activity to come forward so we can keep dangerous criminals behind bars and cut down on drug-related crime and anti-social behaviour.”
