Drivers on the M25 are facing significant delays this morning after an accident caused traffic chaos at the Dartford Crossing. The incident, which occurred in the anticlockwise direction from Junction 1A (A206, Dartford) to Junction 31 (A1306, Lakeside/Purfleet), has resulted in heavy congestion and lane closures.
All lanes of the Dartford Tunnel have now reopened following the earlier crash. However, there are still very long delays leading up to the tunnel crossing.
There is heavy congestion tailing back into Kent on the M25, and there is also considerable traffic on the A2 leading up to the motorway.

- The closure affected the stretch from Junction 1A (A206, Dartford) to Junction 31 (A1306, Lakeside/Purfleet).
- There was heavy congestion extending to a mile before Junction 3 (M20, Swanley Interchange).

- There were long delays, with the right-hand tunnel remaining closed following an accident involving a car, a van, and a police motorbike around 9:30 am.
