Grisly True Crime Shocker Returns to Channel 4

Channel 4’s hit true crime series 24 Hours in Police Custody is back with a gripping two-part special: Murder on Prescription. This chilling instalment follows the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit as they hunt down the killer of Eliza Bibby in Wisbech.

What Really Happened to Eliza Bibby?

On January 10, 2023, Eliza was found at home by a friend, lying in a pool of blood. Detectives quickly launched a major investigation, uncovering a murky drug network in Wisbech. Despite suspects emerging, no charges stuck at first.

  • Eliza died from three stab wounds, including a fatal neck injury.
  • Police found she had been selling prescription and controlled drugs from her home.
  • Surveillance footage revealed Jamie Boughen leaving Eliza’s house the night before her body was found.

Suspiciously, Jamie was seen arriving home later that night with bleach and a bucket. Further inquiry confirmed he visited Eliza to buy drugs. The murder weapon was discovered on a nearby garage roof, linking Jamie directly to the crime.

In October 2023, Boughen was handed life imprisonment with a minimum of 22 years behind bars.

Twists and Turns in a Shocking Case

Channel 4’s teaser hints at jaw-dropping revelations: “The local rumour mill named a possible suspect, but a discovery flipped everything the police believed on its head.”

The special exposes the twists, tensions, and tireless police work leading to Eliza’s killer’s capture. True crime fans won’t want to miss this intense two-night event.
