The man suspected of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump has been officially charged with federal gun crimes, authorities confirmed today. Ryan Routh is facing charges of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

These charges stem from an incident at Trump’s golf course, where Routh allegedly fled the scene following what investigators believe to be an assassination attempt on the former president.
