Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to travel to Brussels today for high-level discussions aimed at strengthening the United Kingdom’s relationship with the European Union.
Building on recent positive engagements, the Prime Minister will meet with key EU leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola. These talks are expected to focus on Starmer’s vision for the UK-EU relationship in the coming months.
Starmer has expressed his intention to move beyond Brexit and forge a relationship with the EU that benefits British citizens. His priorities include establishing a comprehensive security pact, reinforcing border controls, and addressing barriers to trade. The UK is undeniably stronger when it works in partnership with its closest international partners,” Starmer stated. This has never been more important – with war, conflict, and insecurity all knocking on Europe’s door.
