A man has tragically died, and four others were injured following a two-car collision in Aston late Monday night. West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to the incident at the junction of Victoria Road and the A34 Sixways Island at approximately 11:40 p.m., dispatching two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care team from Midlands Air Ambulance.
The first crew arrived within six minutes to find one of the vehicles overturned with five male occupants, all from the same car. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson reported that the first man was found in critical condition, receiving basic life support from emergency responders. Despite advanced efforts from paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital under emergency blue-light conditions. A third man, with injuries deemed non-serious, was also transported to the same hospital for further care. The fourth and fifth occupants sustained minor injuries, declined hospital treatment, and were discharged at the scene with self-care guidance.
Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
