Man to Appear in Court Charged with Murder of Homeless Man Anthony Marks

A man is set to appear in court today (Saturday, 7 December) charged with the murder of 51-year-old Anthony Marks, who died following an assault in Camden earlier this year.

Harry Gittins, 35, of Regent Square, Camden, was arrested on Friday, 6 December, and charged the same day. He has been remanded to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.

The Incident

Anthony Marks was assaulted on Whidborne Street, Camden, on 10 August. He received medical treatment in hospital for three days before being discharged. However, two weeks later, Marks suffered a seizure and was readmitted to the hospital, where he tragically died on 25 September.

Ongoing Investigation

Two other individuals, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, have also been charged with Anthony’s murder. Both remain on remand awaiting trial. Due to their ages, they cannot be named.

Legal Proceedings

Gittins’ arrest and charge mark a significant development in the investigation into Marks’ death. Authorities continue to prepare for court proceedings, and further updates will be provided as the case progresses.

The tragic loss of Anthony Marks has left his family and the Camden community grieving. Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice is served.
