Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses after an 81-year-old man tragically died following a collision with a car in Romford.
The incident occurred on Beauly Way at approximately 4:49 PM on Tuesday, December 3. Emergency services, including Metropolitan Police officers and the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene. The elderly pedestrian was treated on-site before being transported to the hospital.
Despite extensive medical efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries three days later, on Friday, December 6. His family was by his side and is now being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with police inquiries. Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation and are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Rob Groombridge of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit stated:
“This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family. We are working to gather all available evidence, including CCTV and dashcam footage. If you witnessed the collision or have any information, I urge you to contact us.”
