Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run on Salmon Lane
A pedestrian was hurt in a shocking hit-and-run crash on Salmon Lane, E14, last Saturday afternoon. The incident happened around 2:45pm on January 4, sparking a rapid response from the Metropolitan Police.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene after reports that a car had slammed into a pedestrian. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that, thankfully, are not life-threatening.
Driver Arrested After Fleeing Scene
The driver sped off after striking the pedestrian but was caught nearby. Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of drink driving. No further details about the driver or potential charges have been released.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“We responded to a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Salmon Lane, E14. The driver did not remain at the scene but was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.”

The police are now investigating the crash fully. They urge anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
