Woman Hospitalised After Horror ‘Casualty on Tracks’ at Borough Green Station
A woman was rushed to hospital after emergency crews were called to a chilling incident at Borough Green and Wrotham railway station this afternoon.
Midday Drama Shuts Down Trains Between Swanley and Maidstone East
The shocking scene unfolded at around 1:45pm on 25 February, forcing the suspension of all train services between Swanley and Maidstone East. Power to the tracks was cut to allow emergency teams safe access.
Emergency Teams Rush to Scene
British Transport Police (BTP), paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex Air Ambulance Charity all scrambled to the scene.
“Officers were called to Borough Green and Wrotham railway station at around 1:45pm today (25 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening,” confirmed a BTP spokesperson.
The woman was treated on site before being driven to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for further care, South East Coast Ambulance Service said.
Rail Disruption and Recovery
All trains through Borough Green and Wrotham station were halted as a safety precaution. Southeastern Railway restored power across all lines by 3:30pm, with services gradually resuming.
By 5pm, Southeastern confirmed services were nearly back to normal, though some delays lingered into the evening rush.
BTP Launches Investigation, Calls for Witnesses
The British Transport Police are investigating the incident and appeal for anyone present at the station to come forward.
