Suspect’s Car Was Abandoned on QEII Bridge After Fatal Shooting

A body has been recovered from the River Thames in connection with the murder of 43-year-old Lisa Smith, who was shot and killed outside a pub in Knockholt last month.

Lisa was fatally shot on Friday, 14 February 2025, outside a pub on Main Road, Knockholt. Police quickly identified a suspect known to Lisa, whose car was later discovered abandoned on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge that same evening.

Body Discovered in River Thames

On Friday, 7 March, at approximately 3:45 pm, police recovered a body from the River Thames near Rainham, Essex.

While formal identification is yet to be completed, officers have notified the suspect’s family of the discovery.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities had previously established that the murder suspect had fallen into the water below after abandoning his car. The discovery of the body aligns with ongoing police enquiries into his disappearance.
