Havering Crime Wave: Locals Face Jail and Orders at Barkingside Court
Several Havering residents have been hauled before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court in the past fortnight. Charges ran the gamut from violent assaults to drug possession and stalking. Hearings between March 1 and March 13 ended in jail terms and community sentences.
‘Professional Criminal’ Amin Mohammed Gets Six Months
Amin Mohammed, 27, from Sunnydene Close, Harold Wood, was slammed with a six-month prison sentence. He pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating against two women on January 3.
Magistrates branded Mohammed a “professional criminal”, pointing to the severity of his offences and a troubling criminal history.
Romford Man Locked Up for Heroin and Crack
Patrick Kwiatkowski, 28, of Thurloe Gardens, Romford, got two weeks behind bars after admitting to possessing heroin and crack cocaine on New Year’s Eve in Ilford.
The court slammed his “wilful and persistent failure” to follow a previous community order, sealing his fate with the short custodial sentence.
Stalker Rodney Morris Handed Community Order and Restraining Order
Rodney Morris, 56, from Barberry Close, Harold Hill, admitted stalking and assaulting a woman on February 6. He received an 18-month community order, fined £120, plus an indefinite restraining order banning any contact with the victim.
Man Jailed for Assaulting Woman in Front of Kids
Lakhan Rathour, 35, formerly of Hornchurch and now living in May Walk, Plaistow, was convicted of assaulting a woman on May 25, 2024. The brutal, unprovoked attack happened in front of ten children.
Rathour was sentenced to 20 weeks in custody. The court noted his lack of remorse as a serious aggravating factor.
