A man was caught red-handed with a suitcase stuffed full of cash at Heathrow Airport. Mazen Al Shaar, 48, from Hayes, Middlesex, was stopped by Border Force officers on Saturday. Inside his luggage was a staggering £1 million in undeclared cash.

Flight to Beirut Grounded

Al Shaar was about to board a flight to Beirut when officials intercepted him as part of a financial crime probe. The money was seized and Al Shaar was promptly arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

Bailed Refused – Man Remanded in Custody

Al Shaar appeared before Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday. His bid for bail was denied, and he was remanded in custody. He is due back in court at Isleworth Crown Court on 17 April for a pre-trial plea hearing.
