19-Year-Old Charged with Murder After Deadly Brighton Attack
Fatal Knife and Hammer Assault Rocks Brighton
A brutal attack at a Brighton home has ended in tragedy. A 19-year-old man, Fabio Botros, faces murder and attempted murder charges after a violent spree on Tuesday, April 1.
Emergency crews rushed to Hartfield Avenue that night following reports of a serious disturbance. Inside, 57-year-old Emad Samir Botros Farag was found with a severe head injury and sadly died at the scene.
Two Others Hospitalised but Now Discharged
Outside the property, paramedics treated a woman and a boy injured in the same attack. Both were taken to hospital but have since been discharged.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Police quickly arrested 19-year-old Fabio Botros nearby. He has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder and is currently remanded in custody.
Fabio is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 3.
Police Reveal Weapons and Motive
“This was a shocking and tragic incident,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cullimore of Sussex Police. “The victims and the defendant know each other. The weapons involved were two knives and a hammer.”
He added that no other suspects are being sought. “Our officers remain in the area conducting enquiries, and we thank the public for their support and patience.”
