11-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital After Serious Collision in Dorking – UKNIP

 

An 11-year-old child has been seriously injured and airlifted to hospital following a collision involving a car on the A24 in Dorking.

The incident occurred around 1pm on Saturday, April 12, between the Cockerel Roundabout and the North Holmwood Roundabout, near the Dorking Cockerel landmark.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to the scene quickly, and the child was transported to a major trauma centre for treatment. The full extent of the injuries has not been disclosed, but Surrey Police confirmed they are serious.

Road Closure and Public Appeal

The A24 remained closed for much of the afternoon and into the evening as investigators examined the scene and emergency crews worked. Motorists were urged to avoid the area, with widespread disruption reported through the afternoon.

In a statement, Surrey Police said:

“The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has fully cooperated with our investigation. We are seeking witnesses and any dashcam footage that may assist in understanding the full circumstances of the collision.”
