Rush-hour chaos on M25 after motorbike crash sparks major hold-up
Crash Closes M25 Between Junctions 10 and 11
Morning commuters faced nightmare delays when a motorbike crash forced a full closure of the M25 anti-clockwise between Junction 11 (Ottershaw) and Junction 10 (Wisley) just after 8am.
Traffic was gridlocked for over an hour, with tailbacks stretching nearly seven miles — stretching past Staines and edging towards the M3 interchange.
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene as Delays Mount
Paramedics from the ambulance service quickly responded, helping at the scene, though no official update on injuries has been released.
Initial reports confirmed one of four lanes was shut, causing chaos that spilled onto the clockwise carriageway near Junction 9 (Leatherhead) thanks to rubberneckers slowing down.
By 10am, all lanes had reopened, easing the backlog – but residual traffic snarls persisted well into the morning.
Drivers Warned to Expect Delays, Seek Alternatives
National Highways urged drivers to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes until the crash site was cleared.
A spokesperson said:
“Traffic was held on the M25 anti-clockwise between J11 and J10 following a collision involving a motorbike. Crews attended promptly, and all lanes reopened just before 10 AM. Drivers are advised to continue to drive carefully through the area.”
Police Investigate, Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Police investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. Anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting incident number 28042025-M25.
