Woman Critical After Horror Bike Crash Near Waterloo Bridge
A woman is fighting for her life after a serious collision between two bicycles near Waterloo Bridge, sparking a major emergency response and temporary road closures in central London.
Crash Shuts Down Busy Lancaster Place
The smash happened just before 6pm on Tuesday, April 29, on Lancaster Place — right by Waterloo Bridge. Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service, raced to the scene after reports of the crash.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 17:50hrs to Lancaster Place, WC2, following reports of a collision involving two bicycles. One woman has been taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.”
The incident forced closure of the road, snarling traffic near Trafalgar Square and Waterloo Bridge. Thankfully, the road has now reopened after police wrapped up their initial investigations.
Investigation Underway, Police Seek Witnesses
Authorities have yet to confirm what caused the crash or if others were hurt. The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
