Teen Arrested After Kayden Moy Dies Following Disturbance at Irvine Beach

 

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after the death of Kayden Moy, a 16-year-old from East Kilbride, who was found seriously injured following a reported disturbance at Irvine Beach in Ayrshire on Saturday evening (17 May).

Police Scotland confirmed that officers were called to the scene at around 6.45pm, where they discovered Kayden with critical injuries. He was transported to hospital but sadly died in the early hours of Sunday.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Video Footage

Detectives believe that the incident may have been filmed by bystanders and are urging anyone who captured footage to submit it—anonymously if preferred—to assist with the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Campbell Jackson said:

“An extensive investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.
We believe several people may have been filming and may hold vital footage.”

Anyone with relevant images or video is urged to review and submit it directly to Police Scotland.

Community Shock and Increased Patrols

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, and Police Scotland has increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance.

Superintendent Jim McMillan added:

“We understand this death will be of great concern for the local community, but please be assured that we are doing everything we can to identify those involved.”

“There will be additional patrols in the area as we carry out our enquiries. Anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.”

Who Was Kayden Moy?

Kayden Moy was a teenager from East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire. Social media tributes described him as a “kind-hearted” and “fun-loving” young man. His family are being supported by specially trained officers.
