Teen Arrested After Tragic Death of Kayden Moy at Irvine Beach

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following the death of 16-year-old Kayden Moy from East Kilbride. Kayden was found seriously injured after a disturbance at Irvine Beach, Ayrshire, on Saturday evening, 17 May.

Police were called to the scene around 6.45pm. Kayden was rushed to hospital with critical injuries but sadly died in the early hours of Sunday.

Police Hunt for Witnesses and Video Evidence

Detectives believe the incident may have been caught on camera by bystanders. They are urging anyone with footage to come forward, anonymously if preferred, to help with the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Campbell Jackson said: “An extensive investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death. We believe several people may have been filming and may hold vital footage.”

Community in Shock as Police Boost Patrols

The local community has been rocked by this tragedy. Police Scotland have stepped up patrols in the area to offer reassurance.

Superintendent Jim McMillan said: “We understand this death will be of great concern for the local community, but please be assured that we are doing everything we can to identify those involved.”

“Additional patrols will be in place as we continue our enquiries. Anyone with concerns should speak to these officers.”
