Police Appeal for Witnesses After Shocking Primark Incident

A violent altercation involving a group of teenagers and adult men wielding weapons erupted inside Primark at Westfield Stratford at approximately 7:20 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025. The incident occurred during peak shopping hours, with the store and surrounding areas “crowded with shoppers”, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Officers were called to the scene following reports of eight to ten males fighting inside the popular high street store. Police believe some participants may be under 18, and the use of weapons has been confirmed.

Police Statement and Appeal

In an official appeal, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“Police were called after a group of approximately 8–10 males, some of whom are suspected to be under 18, were seen fighting with weapons inside the Primark store in Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford at around 19:20 hours on Thursday, 1 May 2025.

Officers are looking to identify those involved and are appealing for any information which may help.”

No arrests have been made at this stage, and CCTV footage from the shopping centre is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
