Two Men Charged with Murder After Deadly Chase in Town Centre
Kent Police have charged two men with murder following the tragic death of a man in his 30s in 1 town centre. The incident unfolded shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday 2 August 2025 on St Michael’s Road, near Dover Street.
Victim Chased and Fatally Hit by Car
Police were called in after reports of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. It’s believed the victim had been chased, fell from a wall, and then collided with a car. Emergency services rushed to the scene but declared the man dead there and then. His next of kin have been informed.
Quick Arrests and Seizure of Cocaine
Officers launched a fast-moving investigation. Two men were arrested – one on Monday 4 August, the other two days later on Wednesday 6 August. During searches linked to the case, police seized a quantity of cocaine.
- Jack Hunt, 33, from Platinum Way, Borden
- Chris McClean, 43, of Pembury Court, Sittingbourne
Both were charged with murder on Thursday 7 August. McClean also faces a charge of possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Court Dates Set
Hunt was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court, while McClean will face Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court. Both are due in court today, Thursday 7 August.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Kent Police confirm the investigation is ongoing. They urge anyone who saw the incident or holds dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
