Man Rescued After Van Crashes Into Tree Near Nursling
A man had to be dramatically cut free from his van after smashing into a tree near Nursling this morning.
Firefighters Rush to Romsey Road Crash
Emergency crews were scrambled to Romsey Road (A3057) close to the Lee Drove junction, near the golf course, at 11.25am. Two fire engines from Redbridge and Eastleigh raced to the scene.
Driver Trapped and Hurt
Hampshire Fire and Rescue said they had to use cutting gear to free the driver, believed to be in his 40s. The man was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital with suspected back injuries.
Road Partly Closed but Southbound Lane Open
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed that while the road was partially closed, the southbound side remained open during the rescue operation.
