Officers investigating a serious assault on Friday evening (20 July) at Wilmcote House, Tyseley Road in Southsea have made three further arrests. It is understood that the pair claimed that they had been attacked by a former ex-partner of one of the women. The Ex was arrested by Armed Police on Friday evening. Police have since bailed the man named as Scott Wainwright under investigation. Sources close to the investigation have revealed that the family tried to set up the ex Scott who’s now been released on bail. The Family member was seen with bags at the train station on Monday following the news. In a dramatic turn, Police have revealed that the pair Connor Collins and Craig Howard have both been arrested along with and Amanda Wainwright one of the pair’s partners following the alleged setup attack in the block of flats on Friday. Police this evening have confirmed Three new arrests have been made: An 18-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Southsea, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The 28-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of committing an act/series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice. A 37-year-old woman from Southsea has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. The 32-year-old man, of no fixed address, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
