Fifth Man Busted Over Explosive ATM Heists Across Hampshire, Dorset & Surrey
A fifth suspect has been charged for a string of explosive ATM thefts that rocked Hampshire, Dorset, and Surrey.
New Arrest: Jesse Matthews, 19, in Custody
Jesse Matthews, 19, from Bordon, is accused of conspiracy to steal and causing explosions likely to endanger life. The offences date back to between August 2019 and January 2020. Matthews appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody.
Four More Held Over ATM Blasts
Previously charged suspects include:
- Cameron Chivers, 22, Southampton
- Colin Golding, 24, Farnborough
- Adam Jones, 29, Fareham
- David Hughes, 29, Hook
All four remain in custody, awaiting trial at Winchester Crown Court.
Two Others Released Without Charge
A 33-year-old woman from Farnborough and a 25-year-old man from Botley were let go with no further action.

- Co-op, Godalming, Surrey (Aug 31, 2019)
- Premier Convenience Store, Brockenhurst (Sep 3, 2019)
- Post Office, West End, Eastleigh (Sep 3, 2019)
- Co-op, Stubbington, Fareham (Sep 9, 2019)
- Tesco Express, Bishopstoke, Eastleigh (Sep 11, 2019)
- Co-op, Spring Road, Sholing, Southampton (Jan 20, 2020)
- Santander, Burgess Road, Southampton (Jan 20, 2020)
- McColls, High Howe, Bournemouth (Jan 27, 2020)

- Audi V8 Quattro stolen overnight in Comfrey Close, Farnborough (July 6-7, 2019) but later recovered
Police continue probing these explosive raids that terrified the south coast. Court dates will be fixed soon as the investigation unfolds.
