Five Arrested in Margate After Sawn-Off Shotgun and Drugs Haul Found
Five suspects have been charged following a dramatic police raid in Margate where a sawn-off shotgun and a stash of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis were seized.
Early Morning Drugs Bust in Surrey Road
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate executed a pre-planned warrant at a property on Surrey Road around 3am on Friday, 1 May 2020. The raid led to the arrest of five individuals.
CPS Hits Back with Charges
On Saturday, 2 May, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges against all five for involvement in the supply of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis, as well as possession of criminal property.
- Ashley Cairns, 32, Surrey Road, Margate
- William Cairns, 65, Surrey Road, Margate
- Phillip Gibson, 19, Surrey Road, Margate – also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon
- Jordan Bourton, 20, Surrey Road, Margate
- A 17-year-old boy from Margate – also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon
Next Stop: Court Appearance
All five have been remanded in custody. They are set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 4 May.
