Man Arrested Over TV Presenter Pool Death Released Under Investigation
Mr Stuart Lubbock, 31, was found dead in a TV presenter’s pool in Roydon, Essex, back in March 2001 after a party. The mystery surrounding his death has haunted the community for over two decades.
New Arrest Made After “Significant” Break in Case
On 17 March, Essex Police arrested a 50-year-old man in Cheshire following “significant new information.” The suspect was initially granted bail until 12 April.
Suspect Released Amid Ongoing Enquiries
However, Essex Police confirmed on Sunday that the man has now been released under investigation while inquiries continue. He was arrested on suspicion of indecent assault and murder.
“We have never given up on finding out what exactly happened to Stuart and we will not stop in our pursuit of justice for him and for his family and friends,” said Detective Superintendent Lucy Morris.
Det Supt Morris also described the probe as “extremely lengthy and complex,” highlighting the challenges police face in cracking this cold case.
Victim Remembered as “Pleasant and Sociable”
Mr Lubbock, a butcher from Harlow, was regarded by neighbours as a “pleasant, sociable” man. A post-mortem revealed he suffered “horrific” injuries before his death, according to police statements.
The investigation presses on as the community awaits answers in this heart-rending case. Essex Police vow to continue their efforts until justice is served.
