Minor Injuries but Big Trouble for Driver
- Multiple drivers suffered minor injuries, but thankfully no one needed hospital treatment.
- The van’s driver, a 32-year-old Brighton man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, and other offences.
- After being taken into custody, he was also charged with causing criminal damage to a police cell.
- He has since been questioned and released under investigation.
Road Shutdown and Police Appeal for Witnesses
The A27 was closed for over two hours as police investigated and recovered vehicles, causing heavy disruption.
PC Tom Van de Wee said: “This happened during a busy time and caused significant damage and disruption. We already have some witnesses but urgently need anyone who saw the crash, the van beforehand, or has dash cam footage to come forward.”
