Met Police Ready for Busy Night as London Gears Up to Celebrate
Commander Paul Brogden, heading this year’s operation, said: “After the year we’ve all had, we know many will want to come together and celebrate.”
He added: “We want everyone to enjoy tomorrow night and have a great time with friends.”
Police on High Alert to Keep London Safe
The Met has rolled out a detailed safety plan for tonight’s celebrations. Local borough officers, new Town Centre teams, and extra pan-London police are on duty to tackle any trouble.
Commander Brogden urged the public to stay vigilant: “Look after each other, plan your night, and know your way home.”
“If you see anything suspicious or concerning, tell a police officer or security staff immediately. In an emergency, dial 999.”
Travel Warnings: Expect Delays on Public Transport
The night is set to be busy, with likely heavy demand for tubes and trains, especially after midnight.
“If you’re booking a taxi, use official services only,” Brogden warned. “Don’t get into unlicensed minicabs – it’s just not safe.”
