Speed Demon Tries to Smash Police Box-In with Van Full of Pure Cocaine
Issa Muvunyi, 27, from Bradford, made a daring escape bid when stopped by West Yorkshire Police’s Proactive Intercept Team on Stanningley Bypass, Pudsey, last November 8. He tried ramming the lead police vehicle to break free, causing damage but failing to get away.
Three Kilos of High-Purity Cocaine Found in Van
When officers searched Muvunyi’s van, they discovered an unsealed pink cardboard box containing three tightly wrapped packages. Tests confirmed the haul was three kilograms of Class A cocaine, with purity levels between 73% and 89% — a major score in the fight against drug crime.
Drug Runner Caged for Six Years Plus Jail Time for Dangerous Driving
Charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and dangerous driving, Muvunyi pleaded guilty at Leeds Crown Court. He was handed six years and five months for the drugs offence, plus a seven-month sentence for dangerous driving, served concurrently.
Detective Inspector Vicky Vessey said: “Our roads policing team’s sharp work stopped a serious Class A supply before it hit the streets. This kind of illegal drug trade feeds violent crime and wrecks communities and lives.”
“We hope Muvunyi’s hefty sentence sends a clear warning to others tempted by this dangerous lifestyle.”
