Two Found Guilty of Brutal Murder in Harlow
Cristian was found fatally stabbed in a Harlow home last November. Police arrived at The Hides around 5.40pm on November 8 after reports of a disturbance. Officers had to force their way inside, discovering the 24-year-old collapsed in a pool of blood. A trail of blood led out the back gate.
Cristian was pronounced dead at the scene. He suffered stab wounds to the chin, back and neck.
Drug-Related Violence and Suspicious Suspects
A witness reported seeing a man in a dark tracksuit vault a fence near the property around the time of the attack. Police linked Cristian to Jayden Drake, 25, a known drug dealer running the “Bobby Davro” line in Harlow. Drake was reportedly using the address for drug activity and had a history of carrying knives.
Officers found fingerprints belonging to Drake and 19-year-old Igors Andersons on items in one bedroom. Both men were confirmed at the scene during the attack.
Manhunt Ends in Arrests 120 Miles Away
A nationwide manhunt tracked the suspects to Bournemouth. Police arrested Drake and Andersons on November 11. Cristian’s blood was on their clothing and shoes, some discarded at their arrest location.
Both were charged with murder and stood trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Guilty Verdict Delivered, Sentencing Next
Drake claimed Andersons did the stabbing/" title="Stabbing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">stabbing while he looked away. Andersons admitted he blacked out but believed he acted in self-defense. However, the jury found both guilty of Cristian’s murder on May 31.
Fraser Chung, 18, also charged, was acquitted.
Drake from Bournemouth and Andersons from Harlow face sentencing on July 22 at Chelmsford Crown Court.
“Cristian was killed in a brutal and senseless attack,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ant Alcock. “This was a planned assault using extreme violence. They fled over 120 miles trying to escape justice. But neither they nor the Essex Police could outrun what they had done.”
Police hailed the convictions as a win against drug-related crime. They pledged to keep fighting to protect vulnerable communities and make Essex safer.
“No court decision will ever bring Cristian back,” added DCI Alcock, “but I hope this verdict helps his family move forward.”
