Police launch manhunt after blaze tears through abandoned Eastbourne building!

Fire Rips Through Old School Site

Emergency teams scrambled to the former Moira House school on Upper Carlisle Road at 5.40pm on Sunday evening after witnesses spotted a massive fire. Firefighters quickly doused the flames, and luckily, no one was injured. But detectives say the fire was no accident — they suspect arson.

Four Boys in Police Sights Over Suspicious Activity

Officers are desperately tracking down four boys seen entering the deserted building earlier that afternoon. Police believe their movements could crack the case wide open.

Anyone who spotted anything dodgy between 3.30pm and 6pm — and has CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or mobile footage — is urged to come forward immediately.

Tip-offs can be made to Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting incident number 936 of 19/10.

Asbestos Fears Spark Health Warning

Worries about asbestos exposure have rattled locals. A multi-agency spokesperson reassured the public:

“Our information indicates there is no known asbestos in the affected areas. While this makes the risk of asbestos exposure very unlikely, we understand people may still feel concerned.”

Smoke from the fire can cause coughing, sore throats, wheezing, and eye irritation. Asthmatics are urged to keep inhalers handy. Anyone feeling unwell after being near the fire should consult their GP or call NHS 111.

Emergency services stress: dial 999 immediately if you experience chest pain or severe breathing problems.
