Noxious Substance Attack Shocks Brighton

Emergency crews swarmed Oriental Place, Brighton, on the evening of Monday, 26 February after reports of a sinister attack involving a suspected noxious substance.

Victim Treated Quickly on Scene

A 40-year-old man was assaulted with the substance inside his home. Thanks to the fast work of East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Sussex Police, and South East Coast Ambulance Service, he received immediate medical attention at the scene.

Police Hunt Suspects After Isolated Incident

Sussex Police launched a full investigation and are scouring the area to track down those responsible.

“Police received a report of a suspected noxious substance thrown at a man at an address in Oriental Place, Brighton, at around 8.10pm on Monday, 26 February,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.

“The victim, a 40-year-old man, was treated at the scene. Officers continue to carry out enquiries and area searches to locate the suspects. This was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.”
