Two masked crooks smashed their way into a Wolverhampton garage and raided a beloved Christmas Grinch display, making off with motorbikes and leaving the family-run business reeling. The festive tradition now hangs in the balance.

The brazen burglary unfolded on Saturday evening at MG Accident Repair Centre in Four Ashes. CCTV footage reveals the two intruders, gloved and masked, smashing a showroom window to reach the prized scrambler bikes.
They knocked over the Grinch decorations, grabbed two motorbikes, and hauled them through the broken window before loading the machines into a van with no number plates.
Grinch Display Threatened as Owners Question Future
Owner Grace Hughes said the festive Grinch display, featuring two characters amid fake snow, presents, a sleigh, and a red car, was set up to spread Christmas cheer. Now, she’s wondering if it’s worth the risk.
“It’s just something nice to see as you drive past, but now I don’t know if we’ll continue – is it worth the risk? It’s such a shame,” Hughes said.
Police Hunt Crooks, Business Offers £1,000 Reward
Staffordshire Police were called to Enterprise Drive around 8pm on 3 January following reports of the break-in. Several high-value bikes were taken, and two suspects remain at large.
MG Accident Repair Centre has put up a £1,000 reward for information leading to a conviction. Police urge anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage to call 101, quoting incident number 581 of 3 January, or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
