M25 anti-clockwise shut after lorry blaze sparks chaos in Hertfordshire

The M25 anti-clockwise between Junction 25 (Waltham Cross) and Junction 24 (Potters Bar) is currently closed following a lorry fire. Emergency crews, including Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue, are battling the blaze while National Highways Traffic Officers tackle snarled traffic. Expect major delays.

Follow the Official Diversion

To dodge the closure, look out for the hollow square symbol on signs and follow this route:

  • Exit M25 at Junction 25
  • Take first exit onto A10 southbound at the roundabout
  • Continue on A10 to Great Cambridge Junction with A406 North Circular
  • Follow A406 westbound to junction with A1
  • Turn right on A1 northbound
  • Stay on A1 northbound to Junction 23 of M25
  • At roundabout, take first exit to rejoin M25 anti-clockwise

Watch Out For These Hazards

  • Low bridge ahead on diversion route (4.7m / 15.4ft). High vehicles must seek alternate routes.
  • Route passes through London’s Low Emission Zone — some vehicles may incur charges.
