Kidnap Chaos in Burton-on-Trent: Man Forced into Car in Broad Daylight
Staffordshire Police swung into action after a shocking kidnap on Melbourne Avenue, Burton-on-Trent. At 11am on Sunday, February 22, witnesses saw a 22-year-old man pushed into a car. An intense manhunt sprang into motion.
Speedy Arrests as Police Nab Two Suspects
Just over an hour later, officers stopped a vehicle on Main Street, Stapenhill, near St Peters Bridge. Two men were arrested:
- A 22-year-old local man.
- A 44-year-old man from Derbyshire.
Both face kidnap charges and remain in custody as the probe heats up. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene, confirming his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
Third Suspect Still on the Loose
Detective Inspector Richard Dancey confirmed the hunt is far from over. A third suspect remains at large.
“An investigation has been launched and we are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch,” said DI Dancey.
